Who we are
Malaysiacarplate.com (“Malaysia Car Plate”) runs this website and CatchPlateGo. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use them, and what we do with it.
Account details
When you register or edit your profile, we store your username, email address, password, phone number, and any shop name, Telegram id, or profile photo you add. The password is stored in a form we cannot read back.
Identity checks
If you submit an NRIC number or an NRIC photo, we keep them so an admin can verify the account before a sale. We do not publish your NRIC number, NRIC photo, email address, or phone number on the public site.
Listings, auctions, and wallet
Plate listings, auction bids, escrow records, wallet balances, top-ups, and withdrawals are stored so the marketplace can run and so we can moderate a deal. Listed plates and public auction details are visible to other people. Wallet amounts and payout details stay on your account.
CatchPlateGo
When you catch a plate, we store the photo, the plate number, the time, and the location the device reports. We also store a device id or browser fingerprint, and the network address, so we can review cheating, shared devices, and catches that move too fast to be real.
A catch without location permission can be rejected. The photo can include the plate and whatever else was in the frame. Your username, catch, and collection can appear on rankings and on another player’s view of your collection.
Messages in CatchPlateGo chat are visible to other people using the chat, together with your username.
What other people can see
Other people can see your username, profile photo, listed plates, auction activity that the page shows, CatchPlateGo rankings, your public collection, and chat messages. They cannot see your email, phone number, NRIC, password, or wallet balance.
Cookies and analytics
We use a cookie to keep you logged in, and a cookie to remember your language. The public website also uses Google Analytics to count visits. CatchPlateGo asks the browser for the camera and for location only when you use those features.
How we use it
We use this data to run the site, verify sellers, hold escrow, show rankings, estimate plate values, review cheating, and answer messages you send from your Inbox. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep account, listing, wallet, and catch records while the account is in use, and for as long as we need them for moderation, a dispute, or a legal duty. Closing a listing does not by itself delete the account or past catches.
Asking about your data
While you are logged in, use Inbox to ask us to correct your account details or to ask what we hold about you. You can also update your profile yourself. We may need to keep some records after a request when a sale, a dispute, or the law requires it.
Request to delete account
Send your email and username and we will mark that account for deletion. Submitting the form does not delete the account.
