CatchPlateGo BETA Crowns Its First Champion: KCY Takes the RM1,000 Prize!
02-10-2026 · Written by MCP
The plates were everywhere. The phones were out. The hunt was on.
After a month of spotting, capturing and collecting Malaysian number plates, the first CatchPlateGo BETA competition has officially come to an end - and we have our very first champion.
Congratulations to KCY, who finished at the top of the leaderboard with an incredible RM36,494,950 estimated collection value from 191 captured plates.
And with that, KCY takes home the RM1,000 cash prize!
The First CatchPlateGo Battle Was Insane
What started as a BETA test quickly turned into a serious plate-hunting battle.
Throughout the competition, players were out searching for interesting, rare and valuable Malaysian registration plates. Every successful catch added another plate to their collection - and another estimated value to their leaderboard total.
By the end of the BETA, the Top 10 players alone had accumulated an enormous RM177+ million in estimated plate value, while the overall leaderboard reached approximately RM226.66 million.
That is a LOT of number plates.
And the fight for first place was especially close.
KCY finished with RM36,494,950, representing around 20% of the Top 10 leaderboard value shown, while Erfan came charging in at second place with RM32,257,460 from a massive 417 plates.
Not far behind was kayWreck, whose collection of just 99 plates managed to reach an impressive RM30,415,200.

It Wasn’t Just About Catching the Most Plates
One of the most interesting things we learned from the BETA is that quantity doesn’t always win.
Erfan captured an incredible 417 plates, while TM72 recorded 406. Yet KCY reached the top with 191 plates, and kayWreck reached third place with only 99.
That is exactly what makes CatchPlateGo different.
Sometimes you can catch dozens of ordinary plates…
…and sometimes one monster plate changes your entire leaderboard position.
The game isn’t simply about catching everything you see. It’s also about keeping your eyes open for those special numbers, rare combinations and valuable plates hiding in everyday traffic.
Thank You to Our BETA Hunters
CatchPlateGo was launched as an experiment: could we turn Malaysia’s obsession with interesting number plates into a real-world collecting game?
You guys answered that question pretty quickly.
Players went outside, hunted plates, tested our detection system, found bugs, competed with each other and pushed the BETA much harder than we expected.
Every capture during this first competition also helped us learn where CatchPlateGo can be improved.
So whether you finished #1, #10, #100 or caught your very first plate, thank you for being part of the beginning.
And to KCY - congratulations again. You didn’t just win RM1,000.
You became the first CatchPlateGo champion.
That title is yours forever.
BETA Was Only the Beginning…
The leaderboard may have reset, but the hunt isn’t over.
CatchPlateGo is just getting started, with more competitions, more prizes and more reasons to keep your eyes open whenever you’re out on Malaysian roads.
A plate worth millions could be sitting at the traffic light in front of you.
Will you notice it before somebody else does?
New month. New leaderboard. New hunt.
Open CatchPlateGo. Get outside. Catch plates. Build your collection.
